Revising and Editing

Hi Students!!

As you have been working on your stories during language class, I have posted some resources that will help you with your spelling, and other resources that should help you with the revising and editing part of your writing.

Steps you should use while revising and editing

Spell Checker (type in any word and it will spell check your
word!)

Online Thesaurus (type in any word so you can find a word similar to it!)

Hope everyone has a great holiday break, it was alot of fun working with you all and being your teacher for the past 4 weeks! I wish you all the best of luck and I want to thank you for making it a great experience for myself.

PULLEYS AND GEARS

Hi Students!!!

Here a picture of how the direction of gears work which we have talked about in class and a few examples that you can use to try to figure out the direction various gears move.

REMEMBER- Whatever direction the first gear or the driver goes, the gear connected to it goes the OPPOSITE direction!!

Practise on this example:

Which way does the 2nd gear (on the FAR right) go if the 1st gear (on the FAR left) starts turning COUNTERCLOCKWISE? What about the 3rd gear (the bottom gear)?

The Magic of Merlin

Hi Students!!

I just wanted to give you all the opportunity to extend your learning on the Medieval Times unit we are doing in class during Social Studies by giving you the opportunity to go through the steps to BECOMING A KNIGHT!!!

The activity is called "The Magic of Merlin" and you will be going through 4 steps in order to BECOME A KNIGHT!

1. Visiting the Castle (learn about the purpose of and the parts of a castle)

2. Train as a Page (learn about the feudal system and the people that work inside the castle!)

3. Train as a Squire (what knights wear and the weapons they use!)

4. Becoming a Knight (you will be allowed to make a presentation in class in the form of a skit, presentation, castle model and many other choices!)

We have already spoken about this activity in class and Mr. S will be helping you with any questions, or you or your parents can post on my blog and I can help you out!
